There will be no monthly meeting on June 19th, but June is abuzz with activities! The Dahl Arts Center invites us to join them for the Black Hills Comedy Festival June 19th - 21st.
In lieu of the June meeting, the executive committee will assemble to craft the strategic plan for the second half of 2025, emphasizing the following key domains: 2025 Round Up on Sept. 27th in Rapid City, fundraising, candidate scouting, Native relations, town halls, volunteer training, and public relations.

Tampon Tuesday Social Club
The Tampon Tuesday Social Club on June 3rd will be a “drop and dash” event—no gathering this time, just swing by and leave your donations on the deck. In addition to menstrual products, we’re now also collecting shower supplies and soap for Shower of Hope, the mobile shower supporting our unsheltered relatives. Clean, gently used towels or washcloths are also welcome and much appreciated.

Municipal/School Election June 3 ~ Polls Open 7AM-7PM
Get ready to vote on June 3—polls are open 7 AM to 7 PM in Pennington County, with options to vote by mail, drop-off, or in person.

Early Voting & Voter Registration Deadline
Voter registration for the Municipal/School Election to be held on June 3, 2025, will close on May 19, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Failure to register by this date will cause forfeiture of voting rights for this election. If you are in doubt about whether you are registered, check the Voter Information Portal at www.sdsos.gov or call the county auditor at 605-394-2153.
Registration may be completed during regular business hours at the county auditor's office, municipal finance office, secretary of state's office, and those locations which provide driver's licenses, SNAP, TANF, WIC, military recruitment, and assistance to the disabled as provided by the Department of Human Services. You may contact the county auditor to request a mail-in registration form or access a mail-in form at www.sdsos.gov or www.pennco.org.
Any voter who needs assistance, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may contact the county auditor for information and special assistance in voter registration.

Stewards of Earth Highway Cleanup
The Penn Dems will be pickin’ and grinnin’ while we clean up the ditches along the highway we have adopted. Jeff Shelton, captain of the new “Green Team” is excited to lead the volunteers in keeping Pennington County beautiful.
We need 20 volunteers…water and snacks will be provided.
Please be sure to bring a pair of gloves!

McGovern Day Rally
Celebrate civic spirit, shared values, and a night of food, speakers, and entertainment at the McGovern Day Rally on May 3 at Crazy Horse Memorial.

It is time to Stand Up and Speak Out! May Day!
May Day is our next Day of Action along with 50501. Allies of LGBTQ2S people and more will be there in light of the Rapid City Council's decision to censor banners along Main Street, including Pride Flags. Be there to support the Black Hills Center for Equality and march for their rights, women's rights, and all of our rights as citizens!
